I’m still having that problem of the radio sometimes going back to FM1 when I shut it off but I guess I’ll have to live with it. As far as the antenna goes, I’m waiting to hear how Jglow made out with the antenna adapter. I would love to do away with the Sirius antenna altogether and use the XM antenna if the adapter works.

With the merger approved just last week and FCC soon, you will not need a different reciever to get either XM or Sirius. You will be able to get programing from both if you want to....

It's about 3 months away from happening. Once the FCC approves the merger, it should be just about 2 months before you will be able to get both from either reciever.

Howdy.

Just for clarification, are these the parts that were used to replace XM with Sirius?

GM SIRIUS Connect SIRGM1

XM to SIRIUS Dual Input Antenna Adapter

I''m running out of free XM and will be moving over to in-dash Sirius. I hope to use the XM antenna instead of a new magnetic jobby on the roof or mounting something on the dash.

I''m sure you know the adapter is not as good at receiving Sirius signals.

Yeah - thanks Vader. I figured that the adapter was poor at receiving signals, but maybe it''ll be good enough to get r done! :-)

Let us know how the reception is after your install.

Now that the FCC approved the merger, I''m glad that I held off on the change of players and radio upgrade.

Right now I''m using a window mount Sirius Sportster Radio that I bring from the house to the truck. When these folks figure out which Radio will allow the "choice" of XM and Sirius channels I''ll buy a box and stick it in the dash.
