I'm trying to install some cargo hooks in the same rails that hold the luggage cross bars but can't figure out how to get the slide base down in the track. Do I need to remove a roof  clearance light to gain access to the inside of the track? Thanks

to get access to the rail sliders you need to remove the plastic stop at the back of the rail, between the steel rail and the rear marker light.  pops out without tools.  sometimes the tabs break, so don't go gorilla on it trying to get it out.  once that's out you can slide one of your crossbars out and put the cargo hooks between the bars if you want.

I should have mentioned I have a SUT. The rails run from front clearance light to rear clearance light. There are no stops, the rails butt right up against light housing.
