HUMMER has discontinued the next generation H2 project, the one that had a new body style and was going to offer the diesel engine.  Hummer hasn't rolled out a timeline for the H2, and will continue to build, but this shows some clear intent on Hummer's long term future.

I checked HummerGuy.com this AM and that story wasn't there. My older brother was really looking forward to trading his 2007 H2 in on a 2010 diesel H2. Guess he can move on now. I loved my H2. I wonder why GM hasn't considered a 2wd/4wd option? That would up the mileage considerably. I am really jazzed about the HX but hate top see the H2 go. I am really not looking forward to the gleeful dancing and taunting from the greenies.

I weep.

Between the axle manufacturer strike effecting H2 production, this announcement and $100+ a barrel oil.....

Well that sucks, I was planning on buying a Duece in about 4 years or so. Now I'm afraid that the price will get out of reach in anticipation of the end

Say it aint so!!

Looks like i'll be keeping my duece for sometime and look into a diesel swap in the next several years. I was wainting for the 2010 H2 to upgrade, but it looks like that is shot to shiot.
Damn this just ruined my day.

I loved my 2003 H2. That was the best riding, driving 4x4 that I have ever owned.

I was worried this would happen!!

Go to ANY HUMMER dealer and the 3's outnumber the 2's 10-1!!!

Oh well, just have to keep the Princess in Pristine Condition!!!

No more H2 by 2014?!?  How much smaller is GM planning to go with the Hummers? I can't believe they are going in this direction.

Leave it to an American car company to postpone innovation and keep the same old look and style.  Then everybody wonders why foriegn car companies have so much business here.

Maybe one day, Ford and Chevy will actually make cars that, ya know, look different then the past decade.  Maybe GM will actually start having stock car stereos that play those fancy shmancy MP3s that everybody has been listening to for the past decade as well.

Oh wait, most foriegn cars already have that feature, standard

Maybe GM is waiting to build the new H2 on the next generation pickup chassis instead?  Jumping over the current new large SUV/PU platform probably makes sense in light of the timing of the new CAFE requirements.
