08Alpha, you are added to the list. Jackk, we will work it out when a filter is released. I'll be glad to help. Thanks for the compliment, I have a sweet welder and a shop equipped to make anything. That is why I started AirDocIntakes.com, I have made custom stuff for myself over the years, then I might make a couple for a few friends, show goers, some bruds in trade for other stuff. My friend Kevin said these pipes are too cool not to offer them for sale with the parts I sourced to make a kit. However, I don't look forward to being in the grinding room cutting steel, or up close and personal with my welder when it's beautiful weather in July. More Hummer stuff on the way, such as UBP and guarding like you have never seen before, just check back time to time.

Well, well, well……………..I guess the cat is out of the bag now. OK fellas, I too have been testing one of these bad boys for Doc over the past few weeks and all I can say is “Sweeeet”. Quality: Only the best materials appear to have been used. Fit and finish are excellent. T-bar clamps are overkill. But they are in keeping with the “built right” approach to this kit and quite frankly, just look right on a Hummer. Installation: Very simple, 30-minute process. Instructions are lengthy, but that is necessary to accommodate the novice. Regardless of your experience level, I highly recommend that you read them prior to the install. Note1: Removing the snorkel from the breather box is a bit of a pain and might require some to use a second set of hands. Note2: Proper placement of the new snorkel between the breather box and the fender well CAN be a bit tricky. I took me a couple of tries to get it “just right”, but it went in as advertised and fit quite well. Once anchored with the supplied screw, everything is just as rigid as stock with an even better seal. Performance: I experienced a bit of rough idle upon initial startup but that went away shortly after the engine got up to normal operating temperature. Also, it seems like it takes the computer a little time to figure out what to do with all the extra air and get itself dialed in properly. Improvements are immediately noticeable. Increased power and torque seem to be from 2000 RPM and up. The power band seems a lot smoother now and the shift points come a LOT quicker.... Expect post install MPG to really bring the suck on your first tank of gas, cause YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP YOUR FOOT OUT OF IT. Subsequent tanks should fare better and once I finish tank number four, I’ll post up my MPG figures. Air temps at the intake manifold are within a few degrees of ambient at highway speeds. Noise: No rattles, no buzzing. You will however notice a bit more “throaty” sound during you’re uhhhhh……. “exhibitions of acceleration” Is it a V8? No. Is it a SC? No. Is it a Turbo? No. Quite simply, It is a performance mod for an I5 that gets you A LOT of BANG for THE BUCK. Great Job Doc and good luck with future sales. I really appreciate your efforts in putting this kit together. Suggestions: Offer it unfinished for those folks that want to color match the tube to their body color. An extra .5 to 1.0 inches of length on the snorkel tube would be ideal in future versions. Oh and a few pics……. Before: After:

Thanks guys. I will be special ordering longer intake snorkel hoses. Minimum for production run is 70. Ouch. They will be one inch longer on the large side of the funnel, but the current ones do work fine, just takes a bit of patience to get the fender end just through the inner fender hole enough to seal and no more. I might be talked into selling some raw pipes, or prepped for primer. Fact is you could paint over what I have been using with darn near anything. I might try a run of hammered silver if there was any interest later?

Regarding fitment of the new snorkel, it just takes a bit of finess...no big deal. (Just wanted to make sure that was clear..........)

Would that be "finesse", like in a level of skill, or is that a card playing move in Bridge????

Mine is in the mail as we speak, I will let you all know as soon as it is installed. Highly doubt that it will wait until the weekend, probably will install it at work Isn't that what work is for? Thanks Doc, anxiously awaiting.
