Hello everyone, I forgot my username so had to make a new one, anyways here is my problem, On my 2003 H2 I been hearing this whining sqeaky sound when i turn corners so I started looking around under the H2 yesterday. I was going to grease all the places that need but found this one spot that where you put the grease it is busted on both sides of the car. I found this picture on here and just used it and drawed and arrow on it to what it is (thanks to the guy who took the photo). Anyways its a light blue rubber seal or something, but its broken on both the drivers and passnegers sides, I could put my finger right through it and get grease on my finger,  could this be my problem? what is this for? Thanks all

That is a tie rod end.

Just because the seal is bad doesn't mean the end is bad.

With the truck on the lift try moving the tire (in the direction it would move if it was steering)  if there is play it is bad....

a whining squeeky sound??  with all of that oil splashed around under there?  maybe a belt has an issue... or your power steering pump is bad...

It's the dust boot for the tie rod.

If the tie rod is not worn, you should be able to just replace the boot.

oh... and your how to fix it question....  since you have the weak (stock) tie rods... I would order up some new ones and then replace the ends... and then get it aligned....  replace both sides...
