Hummer running hot?

vworkman -> Hummer running hot? (3/7/2008 8:25:43 AM)

I'd taken my Hummer in for an oil change and the service dept said my water pump was leaking. I hadn't noticed anything before but now that they replaced it my temp is at 210 deg. Is that normal?

would be more helpful if you said what kind of hummer you had, or maybe posted in that section.  the H2 stock thermostat is a 190 or 200 degree (can't remember for sure) so you'll see normal temps just to the left of center on the temp guage.  do you have a supercharger?  if you do, then they put in the wrong kind of thermostat, you want one that runs cooler than stock if you're supercharged.  but seeing how i don't know what kind of truck you've got, i'm just pulling answers out my arse (pretty normal for me anyway).   [8|]

2005 H2, not supercharged.

Thanks, I'll look at the thermostat.

Don't remember for sure but pretty sure my H2 ran at about 200. The H1s run at about 190.

your temp is normal then, nothing to dig into.  if you go above center in mild weather and easy driving, then you should be concerned.  otherwise, i think you're fine.
