Thanks guys. Nice to see another Aussie on here as well. He certainly got lots of comments if that was what he was after that weekend. Mind you I think most of them were not so complimentary when he left the park on the back of a tow truck.

Gunner I can understand the bloke with the H2. I wasn't quite so bad but I Live in Brisbane, flew to Melbourne, picked up the H3 and drove the 2,000kms back! I think it is a combination of an disturbing national trait probably fueled by the Beer companies and a shortage of Hummers in Oz.

MAybe you can convince the local authorities that the parking tickets and speeding fines are a case of mistaken identity and are really his. They probably know him from the probation office and vice squads anyway!!

And by the way, when are you blokes going to start playing footy without all that padding???

hma03 I can't beleive you would not stick up for a fellow hummer driver? After all we all have accidents. It doesn't matter what 4wd park you go to there is cars with dents in them, damaged parts, blown cvs , uni bearings etc. It doesn't matter how tough you build a machine there comes a time where it is going to fail, a driver is no different this is why the best 4wd drivers in the world have crashes (they are called accidents for a reason) no one wants to damage their cars and they feel bad enough they don't need people bagging them. I just hope you don't get the same criticism when you dent your car, because you will that is what it is all about!! pushing the limits how far can you go ?? If this is not the case buy yourself a hyundai getz. And as for bruce he should get off your coat tails. And by the way bruce do you own a hummer as there was only two up at LMP that weekend? I guess I am trying to say we should stick together as we are the minority and we have enough people bagging us in oz already. I watched both machines at LMP and was quite impressed with both I mean you youself got pretty up in the air sideways up Camp road and it looked like you were sitting two inches higher in the drivers seat after this happened and that was not the best driving but I don't bag you I thought it looked great. I heard comments from other people and myself that they liked the hummers and after seeing the two of them they would consider one as their next purchase. So good on you both and stop the S#@T slinging and I think you might owe Skippy an apology.

Wasn't there and didn't see it but I can tell you that I have seen some people do some pretty dumb stuff off road. Wouldn't have mattered what they were driving, it was dumb. Part of the fun is pushing limits but carnage is expensive and no fun. I am on the side of Hummer people everywhere but lets face...dumb is dumb.

Hi H8 ov Hummer, Sorry I dont consrcibe to the blind faith theory of automatically sticking up for all Hummer driver just because theyn own a Hummer or all 4WD'ers just because they 4WD. Someone doing stupid things is stupid whether they at LMP in a Hummer, a Patrol or a Suzuki or in a Ferrari or a Getz on the freeway.

You forgive people new to 4wd'ing for their inexperience but a show pony is a show pony and doesn't get much sympathy from me or I suspect most people. We all makes mistakes and errors of judgements and I am no differrent..that is how we learn and improve. That is however very different to what happened.

I have been going to LMP for 15 years. I have scraped the feeler guages (side steps) had a few minor bits of bush pinstriping and had pig pen mud inside a few times, but I have never left on a tow truck or done serious damage, and I still have lots of fun.

That weekend was the first time in 15 years I put a wheel on a stump but I did it to get pictures for the Rancho importer for him to use as promo pics. The Camp Rd run was done in that manner for the same reason and if you go to the 4WD1 website you will see the pics there.

Mate, I hope other people at LMP were impressed with the Hummers and their performance and do buy them as they are truely awesome.

hma, I don't mean you have to have long hot showers together or anything like that but he didn't do anything that stupid accept for misjudge a stump and yes he felt pretty stupid but dosen't need people bagging him for it.

Have a look at ebay item 150222265963 look at those pics.

This is exactly what skippy did, drive on a stump and up a tree. These are the two things how he did the damage and yes a rear locker may have saved his cv joint from breaking when climbing the tree?? but as for stupid and the rest of the comments he is getting is unfair. And as for show pony he did only one thing different to you climb the tree. Oh but he did pull out of one of the things you did going through the creek and up the bank then up the hill as per your photos as he did not want to drown his car. Can you just let us all know if the pics are stupid on ebay . Cheers

Mate, I really don't want to get into an ongoing ramble with you on this. But to put it bluntly, by his own admission he was pissed and I would put that into the stupid category. Call me a wowser, call me old fashioned but if you drink and drive, let alone 4WD then you get what you deserve.

You gave Bruce a serve for being on my coat tails, but you are so defensive of Skippy that you appear to have climbed a little higher.

Water crossing he didn't want to drown his car in.....do you want me to post the pics of my son walking it before we drove it? It was still water, firm bottom and we were sober.

Mate, I don't care if Skippy drives it up a tree and sets fire to it. I just don't want to have people continually mistaking me for him. Obviously you thought it was ok, and that's fine, but plenty from the response I have had, plenty of people were not impressed.

Lets move on and if you see me at Cruiser, make yourself known and well have a beer, after we've been 4WD'ing, around the campfire at night.

Gee I don’t know, I go away for the weekend and look what happens. Yet another mob of people getting all too serious on forums.

Firstly, m8, no I don’t own a hummer, I assume that is ok with you?
Nor do I intend to own one, why, well, I said in my first post I do really love the look of them but they are not for me, nor is quite a lot of other 4wds but that’s what makes the world go around.

As for quote “And as for Bruce he should get off your coat tails” unquote, I have never meet the guy in the Silver hummer, so how prey tell does one climb onto his coat tail?  Rather a naïve comment as you don’t know me from a bar of soap, but I can live with that, as I assume you can live with constructive criticism, or can you? Each to their own, that’s what, makes the internet interesting.

Having been a past president of our 4wd club and being on 4wd committees for over 15 years I have seen a lot of good and bad things so it’s all water off a ducks back.
I really don’t care what people drive as long as they have fun and keep safe.
Sure the yellow hummer had fun and it showed, so good for him, but my comment still stands about him being a big show pony.
Must be a small world there hma03, I also have heard more negative comments than good comments about the yellow hummer and that’s a shame as us 4wders cop enough as it is.

Anyway enough is enough. I’m moving on before the usual happens and people just go all silly and want to squabble all the time about the smallest and most trivial things behind their keyboard and screen.  Enjoy your 4wding all.

A beer sounds good my friendI should be up at LMP Anzac weekend as will be out of the country for easter. Would like to meet you to Bruce. And I am not looking for an argument, I just hate seeing people getting bagged for the wrong reasons. And I beleive 99% of it is because he is driving a bright yellow (look at me) hummer? What do they call it in OZ (tall poppy syndrome) aussies are the worst for this as I know as I am one. An aussie that is.

And I will tell you a funny one but I was speaking with another guy up at pig pen (big night) about the silver hummer and he thought it was a (sorry guys) a jeep. You should of heard his mates bag him out. Oh well gave us a bit of a laugh.

Anyway looking forward to meet you guys to have a beer and a chat.

Cheers

Yep a beer or 3 around the fire at night is always a good way to finish the day.

A Jeep, A jeep. Bwhahahaha Owell I guess to somepeople it may look like a jeep. I must admit some of these new little bubble cars you see driving around on the black top all look the same.

New here and will be picking up my 3 in a couple of days ,
Any of the OZ H3 owners interested in long range fuel tanks I am wanting to get one and have been onto Brown Davis about getting one they need at least 6 orders to do a manufacture run they said they should be able to double the range over standard and price would be around the $1000 mark, so if any OZ owners are interested let me know.
