Anybody else's dealer have a "test track"

dmurdock -> Anybody else's dealer have a "test track" (3/2/2008 3:56:40 PM)

www.hewletthummer.com and watch the virtual test drive..

They have a concrete test track at the dealership which they will take you for a ride on..it's actually pretty neat. It has high climb and descent angles, side slopes, 3 roller plate (so 3 wheels have 0 traction) and at the end they will climb a ~16" wall. They did it in the truck I was going to buy but I wanted power seats so I bought a different one  but it was pretty neat how they just grab one off the lot and take you for a spin.

One of the three I frequent has their own test track.

Sure - it was the flat streets of Phoenix. Actually, my "test drive" was a five day rental of an 07 Lux H3 from Avis across Colorado, from Denver to Grand Junction down to Farmington, NM. I also took it through mud and snow on the forest roads near Durango. That rental convinced me to buy.

Land Rover has a track in their North Scottsdale dealership. Been through that in an LR3, pretty cool.

Ron Carter Hummer in Houston has a track just like you described.

No track at mine Hummer of Columbus, but they are kind of land locked so...

Sounds cool though, what better way to sell them then to prove what the ads say.

Dew Hummer in St. Petersburg, FL has one, but it isnt that nice. Although they said they are going to build a better one soon.

Hummer of Novi, MI has one. Haven't seen/used it yet (I bought mine there).

My dealer just opened the showroom a couple of weeks ago.  No plans on building a Test Track.  They said it would cost $1,000,000, instead they have to hold Hummer Happenings 2x per year.

Looks like any number of parking garages.....w/o the parked cars.   Not impressed. [&o]

My wife's Pacifica could do a lap or two.....what's the point?  IDGI

Hummer of Knoxville, TN has a track and they took me around it before i bought mine.  It was a little more challenging than the one in the video.  Started with metal conveyor belt-like rollers for 3 of the wheels to show it could push itself out of them with one tire (driver's side rear) having traction.  Then up a 16" vertical wall like in the video, over a telephone pole, across some large rocks that were concreted in place, then up a 60 degree incline, and finishing going over some concrete mounds.

Reeves is nice has a water pool they can fill to 24" FOR THE H3. But they keep it at 20" for the H2.
