I am the proud owner of a new Midnight Blue H3 08 as of yesterday.  Driving home from dealer the 4WD buttons (4 with arrow - left button) light stays on and will not go off when you hit it multiple times.  The 4 arrow high lock (second button) will come on and stay on when you hit it but when you toggle back and hit 4 with arrow (left button), it always stay on.  Is this normal?

Yep it's normal, H3 is a full time 4WD, when the left button is on you 60% on the rear and 40% in the front, middle one is 50/50, it's all in your manual.

Thanks dudes...I read the manual and it was kind of vague if the light always stays on or not. It just says what it does.....cool.   I am too used to Jimmys and Envoys 4WD on/off for the last ten years as I traded in my 06 Envoy for this H3.....not used to a "real 4WD truck"!!

This forum rocks!!!

I agree about reading the manual, but it's a damned shame that the dealer allows people to leave without some kind of briefing on the basics of the vehicle you just bought. My dealer didn't go over any of that either. When I left the Harley dealership they went over every part of the bike before you left.

Mine didn't ask but I drove onto the lot to trade in my H2 and had been up before in the H1s. Probably thought he would have insulted me. Did make me read parts of the manual though. I agree. I think the salesperson should walk you through all of the controls in the car, the warranty, service schedule, etc. Weseloh did it when I bought the 2 in 2003 but that is the last time it happened.
