I know Raymond said last week that he was travelling and was having trouble connecting to the internet. Maybe he's travelling again this week?

10:30 sounds good to me. That means if we're meeting at 635 and 20 we should probably try to meet up around 8. I think the second exit after you get on 20 east from 635 is exit 482, and google maps shows a shell station at the intersection once you exit. I say we meet up there for the caravan.

I've got a CB so I'm good to go. Thanks for the offer though!

we (my g/f and i) will leave the campsite around 815ish.  that should get us there around 1030.  fyi - im really bad about punctuality, so i apologize in advance if i'm late.  i still have the college 'sleep-in' bug, tho im 5 years removed...ha!

i just got my new cobra handheld and magnet atenna today, so im set!  never used one before, so i expect some coaching.  thanks too for the offer.  ray might need your extra tho.

incase anyone forgets lunch, i've got you covered.  we'll have plenty with us to make sandwiches, drinks, and chips.

If that works for you, that works for me.  My normal wake up time is 10 PM so I tend to want to get going earlier.  I'll still plan on being out of the house by 7.

Has anyone talked to Ray to let him know the new plan?

Hopefully he'll be able to log on tonight and see all this.

If not, maybe Dave has his number since he's been wheelin with him before?

Hey guys,

Sorry, I've been digitally MIA for the better part of the week. I've been on the road and my hotel had problems with it's wireless AGAIN...

****EDIT****
OOppppps. (Just read the earlier thread about Barnwell being closed). I didn't know Barnwell closed off for events.... I just got online and thought Barnwell was on and posted I was ready to go. Now that Barnwell isn't on the table I think I'm gonna pass this trip to Shilo. I've heard my son talk about it and he said he wasn't that impressed with the place and he just rides ATV's.

Maybe we can do another trip to Barnwell sometime soon. Sorry guys, I've got a lot of things going on now and freeing up Saturday is going to be a big help to me and my jacked up life. You guys be safe, Dave likes to climb hills so stay out of his way. Pics and some video are requested!

Yes, we survived.... All the soccer moms you'd need to worry about stayed at home yesterday.

caywood along with his girlfriend and two dogs an I were the only ones to make it.  All I can say is you guys missed out.  You couldn't have asked for a nicer day to be offroading.

There were a few aaaaaa "navigational errors", but nothing a strap couldn't fix.  I even took pity on him with this one an forwent my normal policy of "He who is stuck hooks up the strap"

This was the most fun trail we found.  Note the mud filled hole that starts the little climb.

This is just after you were able to turn away from the bank that wanted to eat your fender....... not that you could see anything more that tree branches and sky from the drivers seat.

This is one of the wider of the ATV trails we found to play on.  We had a couple of guys on ATVs fallow us for a while that we ended up talking to.  One off the guy said "We started watching you to see you get stuck..... we kept watching you because we were impressed with the stuff you were getting through."

calling myself out: I FLAKED OUT!  i'm SOOOOOOO sorry!  i had every intention to be there.  however, we had a rough time getting out and set up on friday night.  we didnt get to bed till 2am.  we weren't looking forward to a 3 hr drive south (and another back) on saturday.  plus, i didnt know how much off-roading time we would've had.  it was crappy planning on my part.

with all of that being said, it looks like you guys had a great time!  have either of you been to barnwell?  how does it compare?  were yall about to spend a lot of time on different trails?

thanks for the pics!  throw some more up if you've got'em.

dave

ps - plz dont hold my "no show" against me.  next time we do this, i PROMISE to plan things better and make off-roading the only priority.

I've got some more pics that I'll have to post later tonight when I get home.

It really was a great day... you guys missed out! The park was pretty nice, but it really is geared more towards ATVs. We definitely wound up on some ATV trails, and I had to fold my mirrors in at one point to get past some trees. I've never been to Barnwell so I can't really compare it, but my guess is that Barnwell probably has more trails. We didn't have any problem spending the day on what they did have though.

And as far as Dave not showing up... no worries man, but you should have to plan the next one!

Speaking of which... I'd be game for another trip sometime soon.

So... confession time I guess! the H3 isn't actually mine, it's the gf's. She's nice enough to let me abuse a little bit though. So she's the one who's the BU grad. I graduated from A&M.
