I just watched the episode of Trucks, on spike TV where they show you how to use Freedom Fuel America's biodiesel system, then I saw it on dirty jobs and I was wondering if anybody here runs biodiesel on their hummer or other deisel truck/car.

Not I, but I may shortly be ordering and installing the E85 kit for my truck.  I have to talk to the wife about it this weekend.  I may be getting a deal on it but we'll see.  If I can get a few more people interested in it we might be able to get the kit for cheaper.  Unfortunately not many people on here have access to E85 pumps like I do.  They are all over where I live.

Mike, my Silverado was FlexFuel (I could use either). It wasn't any better, cheaper, and the power sucks with it. It's supposed to be stable priced, but around here it seems to be about the same as regular gas.

I don't. I run three diesels so if the fuel were readily available I would have some interest.

I run biodiesel specifically B20(20% bio disel and 80% reg diesel) during the warmer months.... I have not had any problems due to running it yet and have not modded my truck to run it at all. But I have only ran it for 1 season... I will be running it again shortly. The place I get it from is about 20min away from my city and they only have B20.... I really want to run B100 eventually during the late spring-early fall months and run B5-B10 during the winter months... I just got to find a distributer around my area that has that... I was thinking about dropping a big tank behind my house and getting it delivered be cheaper and be nice to fill up at home... just expensive start up. I remember seeing a site that sells a "kit" that has everything you need to run B100 without worries due to eating away at old rubber lines and seals etc. I believe it was priced around $700-$800 or you can do what I plan on doing and just replacing them as they fail with viton lines. Although I have heard of people running B100 for over 4 years on stock lines without any problem.

Why do people want to run e85? Just as Rhill said above, It gives you WORSE gas milage and worse power, and in alot of cases it is more expensive.

Yes, I have considered to make it on my own but right now I dont have a garage nor the time to do so.... There are sites online where you can share your resources and make a "Community" type system which I might also consider as well...
