Will a 2005-2006 dash cluster fit on a 2000?

Not sure if they are an exact fit or not. I did read an ad for an older Hummer for sale that had the 2004-2006 interior installed in it as an upgrade. Not sure if they had to do any mods for the install or not. Dimensions should be the same, just not sure on the mounting points.

if you do it use a 2004 dash cluster... it is very similar style if not the same as the first run alpha yet it will be more capatible with your 6.5L TD engine. But still I am not too sure if it is bolt on but im sure if you really try I dont see why it wouldnt work. But I did hear that it can be VERY EXPENSIVE. Probably be more cheaper to take it to a car interior place and get a custom interior even if you do decide to copy the Alpha style interior it might be alot cheaper than buying the factory pieces and installing them

Might be happier trading for or buying an 04. They seem to be selling in the 65-80K range.

sorry about my previous post.... after rereading I realize first half of it I was on topic and refering to just replacing the dash cluster... 2nd half was written after answering the phone and for some reason I thought the topic was full interior swap.

I think I leapt over that part also. I'll check my 2006 against my 97 and get back to you.

Thanks, The reason is, there is one on E-bay, my gauges I find are hard to read at night.

Yeah, I seen that one as well.... I dont know if it is plug and play.... but from memory so dont quote me on this.. I believe there is alot more work involved than just plug and play due to new wiring harness etc from the Dmax... this is just from memory of a topic on another forum.

Not sure about the 2000 dash but on the 97 there is about 1/2" difference from door post to door post. The bottom of the instruements is at exactly the same height and there is a approximately 3/8" difference in the height of the instruement clusters. The biggest difference was that on the 97 the tach and clock are in a wrap around section of the instrument cluster where as on the Alpha the tach is centered over the wheel. In the 97 the different mini clusters screw into the larger "instrument cluster bezel. with the Alpha cluster it all fits in one straight cluster. Overall the 97 cluster was 27 1/2" wide ( including the tach area ). The Alpha was 22 1/2" wide. Might need the whole dash to make it work out right.

3hummers, Can you tell me if the size of the gauge itself, Speedo, volt, heat, etc is the same size. I could just swap gauges.
Thanks!

97: tach 2.5 inches, speedo 3.5 inches, other guages 2"
06: Tach 3 inches, speedo 3 inches, other guages 2 inches. The speedo and tach are also flat across the bottom instead of circular
