Had my Alpha aligned today.....the steering wheel was off since the day I got it.....it pointed at about 1-2pm. I just had a little over 1k miles on the odometer, and noticed that when you let go of the wheel that she didn't go straight anymore. It would drift right or left, but no longer straight.
I've attached a copy of the alignment specs of before and after....sorry for the poor pic....The specs from 06-08' are all the same......I think the top of the paper says 06'.
Come to find out the camber and caster were both out, and my torsion bar on the passenger's side was lower by about a quarter of an inch.....I thought it was leaning to the right side a little, but I said "Nah, it's a brand new vehicle". My Alpha now seems to drive straight and the wheel is a lot better! The tech told me that it seems GM decided not to do the final alignment on the H3 before they let it out......he thought they were getting a little cheap in how they make their vehicles.

BTW, you'll notice that the front right camber is still -0.3, which is the compensation for our crowned roads up here...

Thanks for the information. My alignment is off and I'm not a happy camper, lol. How much did you pay for the alignment?

It was $59 and it took about 1hour and 45 minutes to get it right.....what I like is that the take the time, no matter how long it takes.....
I'm not sure if I mentioned above, but I also started to notice a little shake in my steering wheel...it seemed to disappear once the alignment was corrected. I know I will be due for a revised intermediate steering shaft by early spring.......so that might still throw off the alignment a little. Once that is done, I shouldn't have any issues with it.
I won't be able to really tell if the alignment is fine now, until I drive the h3 for a little while and see how it goes in another 1000 miles.

The dealer is suppose to give a free alignment up to a certain amount of miles. If you had it done at the dealer you shouldn't have had to pay. I'm sure someone else could verify this.

There is usually a 12 month/12,000 mile "adjustment" period for issues like alignment, balancing, steering wheel alignment, etc. I know Ford, Honda, Mazda, Lexus, Toyota, has it, and I'm sure GM does as well.

It would of cost me more $$$ to drive over a 130 miles each way and lose a full day of work.....so that is why I paid for it....I'm gonna send the bill down to the dealership and they will reimburse me.

Also, I wanted to update info on the alignment specs.  After driving today, I noticed that the crown compensation on the passenger's side of 0.3 makes the truck pull a little to the left, so I have an appointment for tomorrow, and they are going to take that out.....not a big deal...it's just that I do a lot of highway driving and it's nicer without the crown comp in the alignment....if I was on the back roads all the time, you would want that in there....

Ok, I went back to the alignment shop yesterday.....had Scott do it. He adjusted the camber to 0.0 so there is no crown adjustment. Also had him straighten the steering wheel a little bit more....now it's perfect!!!!I've attached a new spec print out for you to look at....

at my shop when we replaced the steering shaft under warrenty we lock the steering wheel before doing the work... and it shouldnt affect your alignment... we always do test drives after anyways to make sure everything its good to go...

that's good to know...thanx for the info....I haven't had the steering shaft done in mine yet, but it will be done soon....just don't want to take the long drive down to the dealer right now.....
