My Alpha Trials and Tribulations...

VanSmite -> My Alpha Trials and Tribulations... (1/30/2008 11:44:09 AM)

Been a little bit since I have posted, thought I would give an update on this lengthy affair... Went to dealership, decided to trade old '94 jeep instead of '98 due to not getting what I wanted for the '98. Got the bonus from work for a little cash down, spoke with parts guy, got a pretty good deal there... Wheels, tires, panel protect, steps, grill guard, luggage rack all for around 4K. So everything was good to go right? Wrong...

First, this months incentives sucks, don't have a previous GM to trade for that 1K back and worse, no red alphas with tan leather interior in the state of Texas they tell me! WTF! So, I can either go with my close second option which is black or wait 6-8 weeks to order a red one. Will also have to wait a bit longer now that I have to sell my '98 out right which I will need to do to come up with a bit more $$ down.

Guess I have to wait a bit longer, but taking everything into account, I am still excited and optimistic. Besides, all you fine people say that its worth it, so I am taking your word for it! [:D]

wow, didn't even know the Alpha came in Victory Red, I was told it wasn't available...that was my first choice as well (seems like its pretty hard to get ahold of red cars these days)

Van
Call Crest Cadillac Hummer in Nashville Tn 800-246-2021 ask for Danny in Hummer sales
Tell him Troy Farrar gave you his name.  He will take care of you and if they dont have what you want in stock he find it for you.  Even if you have to fly to Nashvile Tn. I'm sure he can make you a deal that it will be worth it.

Good Luck

i would call the sewell dealerships in dallas just to check.  i know when i was looking about 1 1/2 monts ago, they had 3 vic red alphas (2 w/ adv, 1 w/out).  i'd be shocked if they sold all of them.  not sure what your most have's are, but, to me, color of the exterior is always more important that the color of the interior.

also remember that waiting will only work in your favor, especially when the feds cut interest rates.  that spill over wont take long...

Thanks for the info guys. My first pic was actually black, so no big deal with having to settle for that over red. However, tan leather is a must for me, have always had a thing for that! Your right though, I'm not just going to take their word for it, I'm going to make some calls from some info posted here and then head to sewell as well. If I have to switch dealerships so be it, this is a large purchase for me so I want it right the first time.

understood about the "must have's", van.  if tan is one of them, then so be it.  dont just settle.  you're going to spend $40k.  you need to get exactly what you want.  good luck and keep us posted.  PM me if you'd like the names of my sales people.  they've worked very hard me 3 different times locating the right vehicle.
