Look at our sponser sites or try trail duty or boulderaccessory websites.

My H1 winches are Warn. Mile Marker makes winches for Hummers. I know Warn makes a winch for the H2. Not sure about the 3.

perhaps if you stated which Hummer model you wanted a winch for you might get a more detailed answer, maybe even some model numbers

I didn't realize winches were made based on vehicles?  When I was looking for mine for the H3 I looked at ratings, cost, load limit, etc.  As for fitting, they all fit the vehicle, just needed to get a mount for it.

The H1 uses a 12,000# winch because the vehicle weighs 8000#. The H2 generally uses an 8000# winch because it weighs 6000#. An H3 uses...well you get the picture. Provide as much info as possible and our answers can be much more informative and accurate for your situation.

i've got the warn 9500 TI on the bus.  strong enough to snap a 14,000 lb pull pal when trying to pull an H1 sideways on ice.  no idea how much force we were actually applying, since we had 2 snatch blocks in use as well . . . . . . .

Also I know that due to the weight of the winch the H1s with winches have heavier duty springs on the front than the non-winch trucks.

Yes.....I also have a 8000lb Warn Winch on my 2003 H2. I purchased my pre-owned Winch through a local posting in craigslist.com. I guess I was lucky to find a name brand such as WARN.
I also purchased from ebay.com the needed front Hitch mount extension and the Winch Hitch mount Plate.
I could have purchased in ebay a comparable no name brand Winch at a reasonable cost but a piece of equipment like this, You want a good strong Winch that is reputable and manufactured with quality. Although the name brand Winches tend to be a bit expensive. So I waited to find one pre owned at a reasonable price.
ebay also has name brand Winches but tend to be a bit pricey.
Currently I have it mounted to my vehicle, but not connected to the power yet since I'm trying to locate Power Quick Disconnect Plugs. But I did try to use it or rather test it out by connecting my Battery Jumper Cables to it and it worked perfectly!

an 8000 lb winch is kind of small for an H2.  typically you want something rated 1.5 times the weight of your vehicle, or larger.  as for the disconnects, 4heelpartswholesale or central4wheeldrive carry them.  i wouldn't recommend buying the cables or connectors used.

My Hummer dealer sold the 8000# Warn winch for the H2. I agree that I would consider it a little small for the H2 but that is the winch I see on them most often.

That's the type I'm looking at getting, probably by the end of this spring I'll get it.

I agree with Shortbus - an H2 should really have a 9500 or greater rated winch on it. 8000 is going to be helpful when you need to tug something, but is not good for self-recovery if you are really in a jam.

mine's come in handy and hasn't shut down yet on any recovery work i've done - even when yanking my own stuck ass out.  it's nice to be able to move it to the back as well, although it has to go in upside down unless you swing the spare out of the way . . . .  i almost ripped off the tow hook on some kid's mazda that had run into a ditch along the coast - first time i used the winch and didn't realize the power it had.  an 8000 lb winch would be perfect for that.
