If I install hood handles then do I need make drill holes into the factory equipment?

In other words, what if I want to take them off later?

I don't have them, but the ones I saw need holes in the hood louvers. My friend bought a set of handles from McMaster Carr (hardware supply company) really inexpensive that look very much like the ones advertised as the ones sold for the hummer.

Yes. You will need to drill into the plastic hood cover in order to attach the handels.

there are many many different hood handles, so check them out unless you already know which ones you want.

Remove Plastic Hood Piece

Open the hood and tap the three clips loose located at the rear of the part. Close the hood and pull the part loose. The instructions tell you to use a tool that won't scratch the paint to pry the clips loose. I assert that there is no such tool in existence and simply worked my way around with my fingers and popped each clip loose.

The Hole Template

The kit comes with a hole template that you can just tape in place. You may need to clean the plastic to get the tape to stick.

Drilling The Holes

The instruction called for a much larger drill bit, but I used a 1/4 so the fit would be tighter. Of course this means that you need to drill the holes dead center of the template.

Attaching The Handle

Here is what the under side looks like after installing the hex head screws.

Complete The Project

After attaching both handles just gently tap the unit back onto the hood.

I have installed the hood handles and I have to say it took about 15-20 minutes. Three clips hold the stock louvers on the hood. Just pop that off. Then drill four holes, two for each handle, on each end of the louver panel. bolt the handles on and then place the panel back on the hood. DONE! they look great and I don't know why they don't come stock like the H2 does.
