I went to the hummer dealership today and I was looking at an old h1 wagon. It had the special edition badge and matt tan color so I knew it was an early one and it had black leather seats, a radio and so I knew it was the civilian version and all evidence pointed to it being a 1992 h1 but the guy said it was an '87. So I am confused, maybe its a restore military one maybe the guy was wrong about the year (he could be getting the launch year of the military and civilian one mixed up) anyway there are pics in "hummer dealership trip" under general hummer talk. What do you think?

'92 was the 1st year, and if it is a '92 there were only 316 made (85 were wagons) so they are pretty rare. That wagon looks nice -- what was the confused dealer asking?

It could be a converted military one that has the badges etc of a 92... but yea no civilian models were really avail before 92 but I know in I believe 91 maybe a year earlier they released a civilian version to Hall racing which is now owned by a Private party...

yeah, Rod's pre-runner may have been the first "civi" truck in '91. "H1slantback" here in central Cali bought it (he has 5...yes I said 5 hummers). The race truck looks pretty cool -- love the suspension!

yes slantback has a very nice collection of hummers... I myself am very jealous... Hell just the factory slantback he owns is enough to make me jealous
