krm,  looked at the avic - d3 and have someone who will install it with xm, ipod, and rest of integration with the steering wheel etc for 1500.  is the avic worth that or show i go with a unit that has a harddrive.  thanks.

I am having the Kenwood DNX7100 installed tommorrow along with the AutoPage RS1000 alrm system. I have owned the Kenwood DDx 7017 in my last tryck and it flat out rocked!

I have the Kenwood DNX7200T and it's upgradeable by memory card. I don't know anything about the price for upgrading. But maybe you'll find it on the garmin page. This system plays movies while driving on the headunit too, not only on the backseat monitors. I think it's a very good and not too expensive system. The only thing is that I think it looks a bit too coulorful.
