Towing capacity is approximately 8,000#s. Never seen a Hummer tow truck. !0,300# GVWR Not sure a Hummer is the best vehicle for this application.

Dont know about a tow truck, but I have installed a fifth wheel in mine, I pull a stock trailer with 8 head of cows like nothing, Trailer loaded is about 13000lbs. And also pull 30' travel trailer sure get a lot of looks.

Other than the coolness/novelty of it, the H1 is probably a bad choice for that application.  The tow capacity of an H1 (8000#) is similar to an older 1/2 ton pickup -- there are a lot of trucks better suited for this application.  A diesel 1-ton pickup would tow much more than an H1 as a car-hauler, and be much cheaper to maintain.

get the best of both worlds.... get a nice 1 ton and put a H1 body kit on it...

then you get style and function...
