Hello all. This is my second post ever. I just posted for the first time in the "new member" section of the forum.

Just recently I purchased a beautiful black 2005 H2. I just love everything about the truck and got an awesome deal on it. There is just one more thing that will make me a lot happier about it...I really wish that it had a sunroof. When I was on the market for a used H2 I looked at many with sunroofs, but none was in such great condition as mine.
Anyways....while purchasing the H2 I asked about getting an aftermarket sunroof put in. I spoke with the salesman at the dealer and they told me that it could be done but I think that they were just trying to make a sale and pretty much would have told me just about anything to sell me the vehicle. Now, money is not an issue..I'm just concerned about water leak issues, etc.
My question to you guys is...has anyone gotten an aftermaket sunroof on their H2?? Can this be done?  Is this a bad idea?  Any comments?

Thanks,
generh2

Don't know anyone that has added the sunroof after the fact. I would be very leery of having some chop shop cut a hole in my roof. Sounds like you got a great truck. My H2 didn't have a sunroof either. I didn't really care because the H1s didn't have them either. I am sure you can find someone to add an aftermarket sunroof but I think that if you really wanted one buying a truck with the factory option would have been the best way to go.

Try the search function. I think there was a thread on this 3-4 months ago.

send it back to the dealer and have it done, it is alot better to pay extra and have it done by the people who know the car inside and out.

if you have the dealer do it under the "binder"? agreement-(its the agreement where you can do add ons like security, av, etc), then it should most have a warranty in it of itself.  also there is the "magnusson moss"-sp? warranty act that states if you have modifications done by a "reputable" dealer-that it cannot void the original manufacturer's warranty-i think it goes as far as making it illegal for the service guy to blame anything aftermarket done by a "reputable" dealer.

Also consider that the roof is the main support for crush proofing when you get into an accident.  If they cut at the wrong measurments it could mess with the rigidness, strength and integrity of the car.
