I never got to see my trip over 200 miles....I can only go 190 on a full tank

but I agree...definately get to a dealer to check that out.

Heh, that's the ODOMETER, new delivery a week ago.  And yeah, at 210 miles the tank is empty

Just went in the garage to check on the wife's. The digits may be LED, but it is definetly back lit. Unless that's just the "glow" from the LED's maybe.

The funny thing to me is... none of us have seen it... and may never see it... yet it happened to him.. under warranty... so the worries are less... but yet 2 years from now we will all be telling the noobs to use the search about this very same thing...

I love the internet...

It's almost like there is pressure on the LED screen that is making contact with the display, and after the interior warms it expands and takes the pressure off.  There is a piece of plastic in the way that prevents me from pushing on the display to see if I can reproduce the error once the interior warms.

An update, Took it into the service department today.  Service Writer says "Yep, we are aware of the issue, there is a TSB listed for it" and ordered a new DIC.  It's in the shop overnight waiting for the part.  I'll look at the paperwork tomorrow and see if the TSB number is listed.

/Regards

This could be a similar issue as BMW's have with the display pixelation. It might be a simple computer issue that can be resolved with a reset. I had a similar issue to yours with an E39 5 series.
The link below has a picture of one of the many different gremlins, while not the same as yours, or even what i had, the root problem is usually a dirty connection or a computer issue (which was mine).
