Got another one....
Wife is in the H3 yesterday. She trys to start it after being parked at a local shopping center, but the engine will not turn over. The starter turned at full power but the engine would not turn over. No dead key, slow crank that would be a sign of low charge or bad battery. She attempted to start it approx. 6 times with no luck. It finally started after sitting for 10-15 minutes. The problem has not reoccured since. Any ideas??

Are you saying the starter motor spun, but wouldn't engage the flyweel?

The starter and flywheel were turning, just as in a normal starting process. The engine would not fire, as if the fuel pump was disconnected.

Ok, now I see...It probably is a crank angle or position sensor..common problem in a lot of cars.

Hey I thought I might add to my list of troubles :) Last week I start my car and get a message "Traction Failed.....Stability System Failed....Service 4X Drive" hehe already they worked on it and said it was fixed. It only happened once and it was ongoing as I was driving, after I shut it off at the store, when I got back in it, message was gone. I also found the moldings between the front and back doors, both sides..... after I guess they worked on the sunroof, all bent and installed crooked..... all of moves around like there is no tomorrow, not to mention all the rattle when music is on..... I mean these @#$# guys I swear to world are complete idiots and are incompetent to leave work like this after I we went through all the crap..... The car has already been in shop 11 days since I bought it 4 months ago, and its ready to go back in to replace the sunroof one more time any time, plus body scratches, etc, I bet another 5 days at least.
GM gave me answer to getting a new car an its a NO..... they told me they would send me info on how to take it up with BBB, hasn't arrived yet but its just been a week.

A Lawyer, like them or not, they have clout and will get GM's attention that you mean business and not be taking the driveshaft up the rear end...That's what they can do.

I can take em to court without an expensive laywer :) I had a case once where a car wash cracked my tranny case..... and glued it saying it will last forever (that was after I took the car to 3 mechanics when i realized it was leaking). i had to replace the whole transmision as thats how galants are built to get a guarantee it will work properly, thousands of dollars. so i took em to court, mediators said it will be next to impossible to prove they did it. they got a lawyer, I went myself and won the case. funniest thing, after the case ended, I found a letter with the lawyer's name in our company's mail..... happend to be the lawyer that represents the owners of my company hehe..... some big shot supposedly that never loses cases for them

Okay..good luck..but there is a saying..A person that represents himself in court, has a fool for a client...Not saying you of course, but the courts are funny and representation is the better road in the long run..You may have been lucky that one time.

Nahh I think like a lawyer :) but am far more inteligent :P he had many good arguments, and for everyone I had a better one, on three or four occasions I made a complete fool of him and his clients, even the police officers onsite and some people that were in the back where laughing :) there was no luck in it, just truth. But its not to say that in this case the situation might be a lot different. Either way I have all the facts and proofs, pictures, nothing a lawyer can add..... the only thing is like you said GM might get scared by a letter from a lawyer..... I might even use another guys that represents our company, he offered me his help during the last case....... I did not take it but it would really be weird comes case and two lawyers representing same company meet each other accross the way LOL

have you written to GM, or just called? I wrote a letter to ford in the mid 90's about issues i had with my t-bird. the dealership repainted it 5 times until i was happy, and ford gave me their "premium" extended warranty, to 100,000 miles, with rentals, hotels and tows all covered. it may have helped that the letter was also copied to the local newspaper and BBB. not long after, my wife at the time got slammed into, crushing all the parts that had been repainted. that's when i realized they never removed any of the old paint. crash could have been worse on the bird if it wasn't for the 6 coats of paint reinforcing it.

i have to agree that a lawyer probably isn't needed, but it may take a bit longer. heck, i wrote my divorce judgement, the courts loved that, maybe you could write the verdict for them too. and no, i'm not a lawyer, no matter how much you may dislike me. . . .

i'd have oil changes for 13 years for that $2k. if you don't break anything on your truck, maybe it will last that long. of course, my extended warranty has already paid for itself, so if you do break $hit, it will be worth it. besides, paying for an oil change is more about convenience. to me, it's $38 well spent. besides, that's what never having to pay for a lawyer allows me to spend my money on . . . .

What is the name of your dealership again?

We'll make sure no one from any hummer forum buys anything from them again
