What are you removing the rust from? On parts like manifolds, brake calipers, etc use a wire brush and Calyx. Underneath I don't worry about too much but when I used to restore old vettes I used naval jelly. I am sure there are new and improved rust removal products now but things don't rust much here is Socal.

Naval Jelly will take it off chrome great with a super fine (0000) stainless or brass wool, then polish out any minor scratches.  Never Dull works well for minor rust or cleaning up exhaust tips.  To give ya any more ideas we would have to know what the rust is on??

Im working on a 73` bug that has a chrome front and rear bumper and its starting to rust up, exhaust tips and the wheels have rust so i was thinking about trying out a rust remover on those parts as long as some parts on the atv`s, not so much for the h2`s as theyre holding up great with rust

Pitting is like craters, Bubbling is when it might pop like a zit. If it is bubbling you might as well get it re-chromed because it will chip off and you can polish that smooth. JME

I use white vinegar or ammonia when I get stuck in the rain and some of my more used tools get rust spots on them....

I've heard that Marvel's Mystery Oil works...  not sure if any of these would work on chrome..

barkeepers friend, you can usually find it at the grocery store next to the ajax powder... its like ajax but without any harsh chemicals... mix a little water in with some powder in a cup turn it into a pasty susbstance and dip a rag in and go to work...
