What if any reason not to put an aftermarket exhaust on my leased Alpha, and which is the best sounding exhaust for the V-8 beast .

Thanks

FYI
Anytime you lease a vehicle and when you go to turn it in it has to be in the stock configuration so save your OEM stuff. Unlees you are going to keep it after the lease.

Me neither.  I am waiting for a few of the top-tier manufacturers to come out with their's to see how they look and sound first.  I went down the exhaust road with my vette (4 systems in 3 years) before deciding on the stock Z06 titaniums and cutouts and getting a decent compromise.  Was a painful process so I'm waiting a bit longer this time to see what they come up with.

yea, I was wondering how long it would take to get some performance mods to the market. I posted a question in the Intake and Exhaust forum with no replies. I guess it's gonna be awhile.

Flowmaster makes one for the Alpha, a girl I know had one put on at the dealer after she bought it. She said it make her V8 sound like a real V8.

Hummerchick08H3 has it, she is a member of this forum.

My humble suggestion.   Alpha owners, contact your favorite mfgers and tell them you want to buy their system for your truck as soon as they get one to market!!!!  Contact two or three of the quality makers and let's see if they respond to the clamoring!!!!

Hummerchick had it done thru the dealer at an exhuast shop, with Flowmaster muffler and tips.  My New Alpha Pics!!!

I would just go to a muffler shop and have a Flowmaster put in place of the stock muffler. It couldn't possibly be that hard or expensive because of the location. I think spending a lot on an aftermarket cat-back is pointless. You can't get true dual exhaust on a Hummer because it's too cramped under there. And it's a Hummer, not a race car. So if you're just going for the sound, just replace the muffler.

I would't put anything on as noted just a muffler because then you are chopping up the OEM. Remember you said it was a Lease.
You could e-mail manufacturers that you know have systems for the H2 &H3 and want to make something for the H3A and have prototypes in the works. The only thing with getting a prototype is you have to be close to the manufacturer so they can do mock ups and test.

I would check with Howell Automotive or Maryland Performance Center and see if there interested in making a custom setup using your Alpha for a prototype, You might get it for free?

Another idea is to get under your Alpha and look at the configuration, Y-pipe, Down-Pipe, Cats, Hangers, measure your stock muffler and search for a replacement, say from Spintech, Jones, Aerotech, Magnaflow etc.. take some pics and find a H3 with I5 and compare the setups to see whats in common as far as hanger locations, and room/space. You might be able just peacemeal a system with maybe an X-pipe, Dual-in/out Muffler and have a custom shop bend you some tail pipes. JMO as far as flowmaster, great sound but most stock systems are now stainless steel and theirs are not.

Right now I am in Iraq, But I was stationed at Fort Detrick in Frederick MD with 4th Light Armored Reconnoissance Battalion, Bco from 94 to 2000 and had my VW/Sport Compact period, I had a 94 Golf Sport with 1.8 ltr Supercharged, then I got a 99 Passat with the 1.8Turbo and 5 spd Triptonic tranny and it was all upgraded it ran 12's in the 1/4 mile. I met allot of people and worked with some aftermarket vendors and stuff and that's how I got things for my Passat. So I was all over MD doing meets/shows. I have inlaws that live in Rockville. You might want to check there in the Rockville Area for GM performance shops.
