Finished installing the Gibson Cat-back Split tail exhaust P/N #312700 from 4wheel Parts of Oklahoma..(405) 946-3509 on the WIFE'S H3.....SWEET!!!!!!!
EASY install (2 of my students and me spent about 1 1/2 hour--removing the old system in ONE PIECE and installing the new system)----only thing I did was spray the pipes and muffler with some 2000 degree silver paint, not a bright silver (same paint use on my vette's exhaust wrap from Eastwood Co.)
Cost was $383.00(at the 1st of this year it was $333.00 but that's LIFE) --PLUS sales tax and shipping. Shipping was SUPER QUICK.
If you call 4wheel Parts of Oklahoma ASK for Mark---GREAT Guy to deal with. TELL him you are a member of Hummer Forum and he will "help-out on the Shipping".
THE SOUND!!!!! My wife said "If it loud on the inside....you will be TAKING it OFF". After driving for a week and taking a 400 mile get-a-way trip. SHE LOVE the SOUND!!!!! and the S.S pipes under the rear bumper.
Dennis THANKS for the ADVICE on this system!!!! YOU were right on target-----GREAT EXHAUST SYSTEM!!!!

Ok, I just picked up my H3 last night and decided rather quickly that it need an exhaust. So now the search begins for what I want. I just got out of an 04 Avalanche with a Ravin 77 cat-back that I like a lot.

Any recommendations on what I should look at for the H3? The Gibson looks very promising. Does anyone have experience with anything else?

Thanks for the help.

Brett

Sorry I took so long to reply Dilo. Yeah I race it sometimes. Though it's a vert and a auto, so it weighs a bit more than a hard top Camaro and I can't really launch the car like I could with a stick. We just got a 04 Mistubishi Evolution. I'm turning that into my weekend warrior.

HuMDaWG,
I went to a local muffler shop and had a FlowMaster installed on the rear. The tail pipe was cut at an angle and it looks good. The sound is mellow, sort of like the mad hornet sound from the Honda. As for the rest, noticed pickup in acceleration, tach is right at 2 when I am at 60MPH. Got a slight MPG gain as well. Not sure just how much of one yet.

Mike..There is a conservitive increase IMO..Feels more peppy compared to the factory exhaust..Not much, but a mild noticable increase in responsiveness...A combination of a K&N Intake and the exhaust complimented each other IMO.

Would you think there is any difference performance-wise between the Gibson, Borla and MagnaFlow exhaust systems? I would think they are probably all the same as far as any boost in HP, but the sounds are what would be the big difference.

I would say like you say..No difference, just the exhaust note may vary a little between them.

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN. YOU ARE MY EXHAUST SYSTEM GOD!

Seriously though, I'm going to do this once and once only, so I want to do it right. I guess for the money, you can't go wrong with the Gibson.
