thanks again for all of the condolences! still working w/ his insurance co. to get this mess sorted out. from what the sewell collision rep said, this will be considered a frame total (ie total loss). the question now in play is how much i get for my h3. i just hope they dont bend me over too hard on the settlement amount. as far as the accident report is concerned, i don't have it yet, but i did speak w/ the dps officer at my accident (he's my neighbor...lucky me). he said the roamer hit me at about 35-40 mph. there werent any skid marks (which makes sense as i never heard any screeching)...something about air brakes and longer stops? oh yeah, and the dude got cited for 'failure to control speed' and something else. the officer said the guy was only worried about his roamer and never asked if the rest of us were alright! once i found that out, i had to be restrained by the ems/fire fighters... tho, i got in some choice 4 letter words. i did my best to strip my accessories, tho i need an air gun/drill thingy to get the rockers off (they're undamaged !). i actually broke my ratchet today trying to unscrew the bolts. hopefully, the collision guys or dealer can help me. that's pretty much the last thing to salvage (my grill guard is toast). btw, let me know if any of you need any lugnut covers for the standard hummer chrome rims. i pulled all 5 in case i ever lose/damage any. thanks again for the concern, guys! i'll keep you posted once i get my new ride. lil d ps - sorry sooners

broke your ratchet?? was it a craftsman?? they have a lifetime warranty... Honestly... if you end up upside down financially in your H3 I would think you could make this a civil matter... I would be willing to bet his Insurance Comapy will be playing hardball since there are 3 other vehicles involved... Airbrakes?? hmmm.... I would think that would need a CDL to operate that... I'm pretty sure... make sure he was properly licensed... or else... you have a better civil case.... if needed.... Of course I'm not a lawyer....

I've got a somewhat portable compressor (it is portable, it's just big) and an impact wrench. Seriously, send me a PM if you need some help.

UPDATE: Well, I finally settled the property damage claim w/ the insurance company and actually ended up a little ahead on the deal. Got my old note paid off and received the settlement difference this past Tuesday...only 6 weeks in the making . However, I can't complain b/c I just purchased the replacement yesterday. Going to the dealership later today to pick it up as they're adding a brush guard and off-road lights (I can't help it, I just have to have them) . I was torn b/w the 0% for 07s and the Alpha. Guess which one won out... ALPHA - Graphite w/ Off-road pkg and Ebony interior I couldn't resist the temptation of a V8. I know everyone has their own opinions about whether its worth the extra $. After all the crap I went through, I figured it was (primarily to treat myself ). Anyways, just wanted to share the good news. I'm pretty excited. Though, I'm not sure if its b/c I got a new ride or its just getting this whole accident thing behind me. I'll get some pics up tonight. Thanks again everyone for your condolences, help, and advice! Yall are some of the finest people I've never met . Dave
