Actual tire sizes
Hey guys looking to get a new set of tires soon. My 285s measure out to be a disappointing 31.5 on the h3. I'm upgrading to 315s soon and was wondering if yall had some actual tires size measurements and maybe some pics. I don't want to guy buy 315s and they end up being 32.5"s

The first number in metric sizing is the tire width in mm
265 = 10.43"
285 = 11.22"
305 = 12.10"
315 = 12.40"
The second number is the Aspect Ratio, expressed as a percentage of the width. This determines the outer diameter of a tire.
The last number is the Rim Diameter (in inches)
Here are the actual numbers (with slight variations between manufacturers) of properly inflated tires when NEW
285/75/16 = 285 x 75% = 213.75 x 2 (tire walls) /25.4 = 16.83" + 16" (rim) = 32.83" tire OD
315/75/16 = 315 x 75% = 236.25 x 2 (tire walls) /25.4 = 18.60" + 16" (rim) = 34.60" tire OD

Go to the tire MFG site, or a tire seller web site, and look it up for the precise total tire diameter when NEW and WITHOUT the weight of the truck sitting on them.
