I have a 2006 Hummer H3. I want to make a spare key, can I get any key cut for my 2006 H3 or does it have to have a chip in it from the dealer?????? Please respond ASAP>>>

 

its a chunk of metal,nothing else. my only problem was ace hdwe had the wrong # on their blanks. be sure the key person looks at it to be sure its right. i check mine in the door first.
if it sticks in the ign its a bigger job to fix and h3 may not start with a bad key.

 

No chip in the H3/H3Ts keys.

I would spend a little extra to have a actual locksmith cut the key/keys for you and check them in the door and ignition before you leave. Depot/Lowes/Other hardware stores have kids just going thru the motions. Most don't even de-bur the key after it is cut.
