Default Changing ***** on Standard Radio

Anyone know how to change damaged (scratched up) ***** on a standard 2003 Hummer H2 Radio (6 disc CD)

I have the replacements just wondering how to get the old ones off

Just look inside the new ones and see if there is any type of retaining clip in there.

I'll ask my mechanic at the shop tomorrow and get back if he knows.

Alot of times the ***** are on notched stems and just pull off. Give them a good long solid pull and see if they move at all.

Well the ***** were just pull out and replace, sadly I also had to replace the rockers for Seek/Tune and the 1 | 2 preset rocker and brother let me tell you.....

You have to remove the radio (you know the drill, center console, etc)

Once you have the radio out you have to pry the clips around the entire face and pop the face off the radio,

then you have to take out 4 of the smallest hex bolts I have ever seen, pull off the ***** and then carefully take it apart (one false move and you have buttons everywhere?) then swap out the new for old and put it all back together. Two hours to replace two ***** and 2 rockers.

Did you have any issues with security on the radio when reinstalled? I am going to do the same thing on my wife's 09 !
