Default XM Radio Antenna to Move

Hi,

I need to add an XM radio antenna (Got the Terk XMicro2) to the H3; I used this same antenna on my pontiac before i traded it in, and I basically unplugged the stock antenna and plugged this one in, and poof -- i was able to move the antenna to the driver's side roof where the signal never faded on me.

Problem is that for some reason, I connected this up and I can't get the XM to recieve signal with the new antenna.

Does anyone have experience with doing this?

Thanks
Ross

When I had a new stereo put in I had to buy a new xm module for it and basically have the same antenna you do, it works good in my truck. It may just be a wiring issue or you have it in a bad spot.

Thanks! I'll try it out again.....just doesnt make sense.

I was also thinking of getting a new stereo for it -- I like the double DIN touch screens (not navigation though) that are out. My H3 has the bluetooth already; know anything about that in the new radios (aftermarket)? I know some come with it, but can you still integrate it through your speakers as it is now?

That's exactly what I have, I bought the pioneer avh-p3100dvd it's double din touch screen no nav but I can play DVD's and works with back up camera. I still have the stock Bluetooth it seems to override radio when someone calls I personally like it. The only thing that was annoying was the fact the factory xm module didn't work with the radio. I needed to buy the pioneer one it's about 100 dollars. Other then that I couldn't be happier stereo wise. Best of luck with your situation

So your bluetooth still works as it did when you had the stock radio?

Also, did you have to buy that GM module so that your OnStar still works through the stereo? I saw that online somewhere.

What year is your H3?

Hey also, is it true that you can only watch DVDs while in Park? I was also thinking of getting a DVD in teh headrest for my son in the back seat; I wonder if this head unit would "pipe" the video to the headrest......?
