Default 08 h3 brake issue...need some feedback

well i have the 5spd h3 and i have a slight problem with the braking system and i was wondering if anyone else has heard or has had this problem.. first thing, after the truck has been sitting for a few hours and you get in and take off without hitting the brake pedal and then depress the pedal it goes almost to the floor and then kicks back quite hard along with the abs sound....now when driving for about a half hour without touching the pedal( i have a 30min ride to work) and then depressing the pedal it does the same thing....has anyone heard of this problem?? ive contacted the dealership where i bought the truck and im dropping it off tmrw morning....

I think somehow you have gotten air in your brakeline. The dealer can bleed your brakes for you.

well i thought of that but since it is inconsistent and i have good pedal pressure 99.9% of the time....when the truck is off and the brake pedal is pumped up is stays firm and doesnt loose pressure.... so i donno...

Did you check your brake fluid level?

Probably a bad master cylinder. They can be intermittent and it wouldn't be the first one I've heard of going south on an H3.

Sounds like a problem with the ABS system. Chevy had a issue similar on their mini vans that had a big recall. People were putting their foot through the floor try ing to get the cars to stop and then the pedal would kick back hard and hurt them. Caused some accidents as well. had it happen on a work minivan we used. It was a warrenty issue there. I would get it in as soon as possible and do not let them tell you that it is ok because they can not get it to happen there.

I just had my master cylinder replaced. I had the exact same issue with my 08 alpha. I also had my truck sometime when you touch the brake pedal the brakes would come on alomst full force.
