Transmission help
Ok so the other day I a small slip for just a half second, I thought it was the ice on the road. Pulling into the driveway I heard a whine from behind the dash. Next morning I went to work and 5 miles down the road I lost D so I shifted down and all other gears were gone. Stop and wait a few minutes and I can drive a few feet and then slips. So Im thinking either TC or pump.
So I've been through a few 4l60e's in my day and just always grabbed a salvaged trans to throw in. I don't want to do that this time around, but am having problems deciding on a trans. Dealer says its a 4l60e but Monster Transmission says its really a 4l70e, which they say is a late model 60e. My question is in our trans for 2007 did they switch to hardened internals and 5 pinion planetary, or is it the same POS I've dealt with on my 1998-2002 s10's.
