Default Probably a silly question...

Would someone mind letting me know if H3 ac compressors are supposed to be running even when the blower switch is turned to off?

I was under the impression that ALL cars deactivate the compressor clutch when the climate controls were turned off. Is that somehow not the case for H3's?

I have a frosty cold- front 1/2" aluminum- ac pipe (between the fan and valve cover) all the time; whether the controls are set to be on or not.

I'm thinking ac clutch stuck in the engaged mode? But is that even possible. Oh- maybe the ac relay is malfunctioning?

Or again, by some slim chance, is this the way it's supposed to operate; compressor running even when controls are set to "off."

Input would be appreciated-

The blower switch controls the blower, if it is off, the blower is off. The AC switch and Defrost setting control the compressor, regardless of the blower motor position (off - high).

@Doc- thanks for the input! So based on that, I do in fact have a problem. Because if the ac switch is not on and neither is the control set to defrost, the compressor should not be running. I'll test for voltage at the compressor connector and see if it's being commanded on.
