Default new way,2-way,radio/antenna

heres a look at a radio face plate mount and an "ugly" but solid temp mount for a heavy antenna. the smaller ant is a dual band 2 mtr/450 and the big,"ugly" one is quad band but this plate would do good for cb as well.
ugly but solid and functional.
oops pix arent loading tonite,be back with them later

Default 2nd effort

sorry i cant delete the extra post??? dont know why.

heres pix if i can!
what you may see someday is a face plate mounted on an aluminum bracket in the skylight area and hanging in the drivers face.
then 2 antenna pix. the ugly one mounts in the roofrack track with the same carriage bolts i use for my 2x4 roofrack. this could be a cb antenna.
the small 2 band ant mounts with a motorola roof mount, right in the center, almost.
pix finally loaded

Looks very good. I am a HAM operator (technician) and did a mount thru the roof near the mid-rear. Unfortunately a branch hit my antenna and bent it back.. even after attempting to repair it always leaks a little bit. I dont post much at all but I read these threads very often.

Update: I also use a Yaesu FT-7900r, love it.

Default Oops report!

update, the "rack mount" antenna bracket is not ok.
the channel has a lot of "wiggle room"when used by its self. when a cross piece ties the 2 together they cant wiggle, alone they can. so back to the design "lab" for reinforcement. maybe a single bolt on the other side and a thin cross piece.
btw im working on an old keyless remote from yesteryear, (my 92 veconoline!). moding it to latch on/off and switch a 12v load like my radio so i can leave it on,then turn on off anytime. i can run the radio remotely but dont want it on all nite.
this remote could be used for any purpose,12v 30 amp
later
