Is the monsoon amp problematic ?
I had a new Nav/Radio installed, I have a speaker that buzzing on & off not all the time like once a month or so. The installer said to me the monsoon amp is going and had nothing to do with the install and the monsoon amps are junk! He also said that monsoon amps are throw away amps and I need to replace it with a new aftermarket amp.
Are monsoon amps refurbishale ? Also am I the only one with this problem with their monsoon amp ?

my 2nd h3 with monsoon system, zero problems and i would never change it for any other. best soundcrisp and ,smashing, i ever heard.
naturally the new install could not be the trouble,,,ha,,ha!!
it feeds the monsoon and what junk it feeds comes out loud thru the superb monsoon.
get the message??
oh, and the installer could never do wrong huh?!!. every thing he doesnt sell is junk, you know.

We have had several H3/H3Ts with Monsoon Systems in them. NEVER had anything go wrong with the amps. Speakers, yeah, blew a couple but never the amp.
Sounds like your installer is in denial. What did this "installer" install in your vehicle? Sounds like he is trying to get you to buy something off of him instead of just fixing the problem he caused.

I have owned many GM vehicles over the years with a monsoon amp. Yes, the monsoon amps will blow cheap speakers, however NONE of the monsoon amps ever failed. Get some quality speakers and leave the MONSOON amp alone!
BTW, intermittant issue is a loose/poor connection.

If so, you have a bad ground on that item. Normally "buzzing" is a ground loop. Never had an issue with a monsoon amp and we have tons of aftermarket items in our rigs. They are all properly grounded though.
That's some funny sheet right there!

We are not history buffs around here, please refrain from digging up OLD threads. What you should have done was post a NEW question in the H3 section and linked this thread (and possibly others) if you felt it was extremely relevant to your query.
Take a look at this and good luck. https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/n...bumping-23220/
