knocking/grinding
Hey all,
I'm having an issue which began 2 days ago when we got hit with our first snow storm here in Pittsburgh. Seems to have started shortly after engaging and disengaging the 4Lock (4hi). I've noticed a knocking/grinding noise while driving or coasting and mostly when turning right or going around a bend which goes to the right; also noticeable when in 4Lock. Any Ideas? It's difficult to tell when the 4Lock or 4Low engages or disengages, as I don't hear anything and can only tell by the feel (truck seems to hold back). I'm worried that it is not completely disengaging and that gears are gettinng chewed up or that I something else seriously about to go wrong with my drivetrain. 2007 H3 3.7L I5 non-adventure model.

I have a very similar issue on my 06. If i do a sudden right turn at low speeds I get a clunking/grinding noise. Feels like it is coming from under the driver side floor panel. Seems to only occur in the winter. Its been getting really bad lately.

I had a similar clunking noise under the driver side floor panel, I'd let off the throttle then stab it, that's when I would hear it. Took it in to dealer since it's still under warranty, Ended up being the front diff mount bushings.

Mavrk73,
That is exactly what's going on. The noise is directly under the drivers side door and more prevalent when making a right turn, when driving straight, I can hear and feel it a little bit, also beginning to hear squealing and clicking.

I have the Chrysler Powertrain Care Plus warranty which appears to cover everything powertrain related up to 120k miles or 5yrs. I have 94k on it now (purchased almost 2yrs ago with 50,010 from a dodge dealer). Is it safe to drive in this condition if it's the bushings? I've had to drive it to work and back home and don't have an appointment until Wednesday morning.
