Key irremovable
'06 H3 Have already searched multiple times. The culprit in my case is the Solenoid transmission shift brake interlock.
Symptoms began as having to really push hard on the shift lever to get the key to disengage. Now key stuck.
I've located the switch inside the console and it's plug consists of 2 yellow wires & 1 black & 1 brown wire. To the side of it is a spring loaded plunger that I can determine how it functions.
Back on 8.10.16 HappyThree posted that this switch is easy to override. MY question is simple! how do I go about doing that? Unplugging it doesn't work. Jumpers, or connect which wires? Or?
Many thanks for direction on this, even though I realize replacing the switch would be the ideal remedy.
(Yes I'm the guy who cuts back the chute on the lawn mower so the grass discharges better & wish I could figure out how to disconnect the seat interlock)

two things going on here.
you gotta be in park to remove key. i dont know how that linkage/wiring works.
the shift interlock is a solenoid by the shifter. i removed the spring and taped the plunger so it cant move back and cause trouble. no problem in 5 yrs.
i still need park to remove key but i can shift anytime,no key,no batt nothing!
