How sturdy are the factory recovery shackles?
Are they actually sturdy enough to do what the were designed to do; recover and be recovered? I just wanna make sure that if they are used like they are supposed to my bumpers aren't gonna be ripped off or the frame twisted

well I have been pulled out of mudd and pulled people out of mudd with them, front and rear and they haven't twisted or got bent, I also used a strap that is more friendly on the paint, so I guess they do what they are designed to do

worry,,,a lot
the shackles will be perfect,,,long after you trash your tranny and transfer case while being a hero for someone ELSE at YOUR expense!!!
this has been discussed b4.
the "soft spot"is the trans and transfer box, all gears front and rear.
you could probably lift the h3 with the rings,,,but dont try to pull an imoveable object stuck in mud
or,,,its your $ !!!
tom
btw, when i think of 33 inch tires being turned by an axle about 1 inch diameter, driven by little clutches in trans fluid,,,i cringe!!!
