Header Bolts snapped???
So i finally got tired of the loud ticking (exhaust leak) when i got on the throttle on my 07 H3. i decided to tear the heat shield off and pray i didn't find a cracked manifold...... Well the Manifold is just fine..... but i didn't have one snapped bolt I HAD THREE!!! My rig has 121000 miles and of course i had no leak until around 105000. then laziness and my stereo kept me from investigating. However now i need to find new hardware and a new gasket. Any suggestions on replacements. or do you think i should just pay to get it done.

it might be easier to let a pro do it. there is talk in another thread of this same problem. It is possible to do a heli coil fix, basically you drill out the old bolt, remove it then re-thread the hole with the heli coil kit and reinstall some bolts.

while your under the hood working on it you might as well replace the stock manifold for this....Colorado: Header Shorty Style for Chevrolet Colorado 5-cylinder, Colorado Conversion, Stealth Conversions.
I just received mine in the mail the other day, will be installing it next week once my new gaskets arrive.

I only found one shop near me that would fix mine.
I only have ONE broken bolt and the guy told me about 150 if it ONLY needs a new bolt and $300-$400 if he has to replace the bolt and gasket. Which is probably the case cause it's been leaking for about a thousand miles now.

I'm going to pull the heat shield off mine tonight and see exactly HOW the bolt is broken.
If it's just the head of the bolt broken I'm just going to spray the sh*t out of all of them with PB blaster and work the broken one and the rest of them out, replace that gasket, and put all new bolts in it.
We'll see. If it's broken in or flush with the head I won't have a choice but to let the shop I called drill it out. Cause I'm DEFINITELY not going to try my hand at that one.
