Default EVAP Emission System Pressure Switch

Hello All,

So a few months ago my engine light lit up on my DIC along with a fuel cap error message. The H3 runs just fine, so I ordered a new few cap, reset the computer by touching the pos/neg batt terminals together, and problem was solved.

Now, about a month ago, the engine light lit up again. Vehicle still runs great. I went to the local Autozone and had it scanned. I got a code P0454: Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Intermittent.

Autozone does not carry this sensor. In the GM service manuals (PDF format) that I purchased online off ebay for $6.95, I cannot find a EVAP Emission Control System Pressure Sensor. I did find a Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) Sensor that is located right next to the fuel pump and sender assembly. Does anyone know if the EVAP Emission Control System Pressure Sensor and the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor are the same thing?

Has anyone else thrown this code? Did replacing the sensor fix it? I assume I'll have to drop the gas tank to get to this sensor?

This is a 2006 H3

Thanks guys!

Had the same problem the first of the year.99.9% sure it is the evap solenoid located over the rear axle. It is attached to a sqaure looking box. You will see a electrical switch connected to it. Twenty minutes to change out yourself. Remove the one bolt that connects the sqaure looking box and then you can gain access to the solenoid and remove it from the box I used a heat gun to get the solenoid off the plastic hose and then re-attached the new one using a small hose clamp. The part # is Ac Delco 214-2149. Google that # and I found it at Amazon.com for about $13.00 bucks. The part the dealer will want to sell you is about $180.00

That could be, but it is usually related to a p0449 code.
Agree about the way it is done tho...

I agree, in my situation I found all three codes 454....455....449 so I went for the easiest and cheapest fix. Have not seen the fuel cap light or the engine light back for three weeks. I believe the pressure code and leak code could be related. Seeing his gas cap message light was the first to come on usually has to do with a leak.
