Dexcool Antifreeze
While I wait for my H3 to be delivered (was told it was being manufactured this week) I was doing some reading about Dexcool and found these articles. Has anyone had problems with their Hummers with this Dexcool product?
I will post some pics and specs and soon as I take delivery on my H3. The wait has been agonizing.

RE: Dexcool Antifreeze
I don't take these claims at face value..they all BS..I've been using the product below for years in everything I have driven...I have not had one single problem with the coolant systems..ever.
These claims about DEX-COOLare only spinning it without correct context...
TWO key and important rules to remember and follow when it comes to your coolant system..
1. Always change and replace your entire coolant system coolant every two years, regardless if it says it is the orange extended life kind..
2. And this is the most important rule of all...ALWAYS dilute your 50/50 mixture with DISTILLED water,NEVER TAP WATER...And that is exactly what is in the mix that comes from the factory and what the dealer changes out with too//TAP WATER....call them if you don't believe me..ask them what kind of water they use when changing a Caddilac's antifreeze..they'll say, right out of the hose....I promise they will....I changedmy original factory coolantat 5000 miles
So with these type of chemicals and minerals and other impurities in TAP WATER, they will react with this DEXCOOL and eventually start attacking your coolant system parts and will lead to premature failures.
Ultimately this gives DEX COOL a bad rap..So IMO these reports are slanted and full of BS.
You Do the coolant system correctly like the DEXCOOL product recommends and you'll never have a problem.

RE: Dexcool Antifreeze
OK I am a little confused here after reading all this info. Does GM stil use Dexcool? One article made reference to vehicles manufactured thru 2004. What is the preventative measure here for those of us again who have to rely on the dealer (OR other shops)to get things done maintenance-wise?

RE: Dexcool Antifreeze
To answer your question Sarah..I would take them two gallons of distilled water and ask them to drain the system and replace it with 50/50 mixture of Dexcool and this distilled water..
This is why GM put the info on the reservoirfill cap..takes away all the guess work..
