Default coolant leak !!!

so after a month of owning (what i assume carefully driven 2009 i5 hummer h3) not really sure about maintainance

43,500 miles
while doing tb cleaning, after i wa done just topped up all fluids
well, later smelled this funny coolant burning smell, ignored it, then saw coolant resercoir dropping ignored it too, since the weather is too hot and i overfilled it so i thought some evaporation and descardig of overfilling by that tiny hose or whatever,

3 days later still smill that funny smell, well it wasnt little coolant burning off due to filling

the level is still decreasing

and while the car still warming up, looked under the hood and its dripling(ac off)

the leak was on the plastic peice on top of the radiator nextto the radiator yellow sticker warnings

killed the car and went inside typig this thread !!

puxtures in attachments

so is this common failure???
the car didn't overheated thankfully

Number one replaced part on an h3.... and you may get lucky and get a top plastic tank replaced at a radiator shop. I think I have heard one guy say he had it done. But as for the rest of us..... just replace as we had to. You can get one pretty cheap actually. Good luck either way.

well does it worth getting either part replaced top tank or whole radiator replacement?

maybe it can be fixed by welding or some sillicone

i'll probably try to look for the part if found for good price i'll replace if not foumd i'll try to fix
do you have any idea if the replacement is an enhanced part or the same core?

thanks, and good luck to you too

did the job, roughly 1 hour at independant shop

replced the plastic top tank for ~ 55usd (part + labour) and few more bucks for the coolant(unfortuntly used dexcool)
the part that i used has no letters written on it at all, it weigha about the same as the original
let's see how this holds up

BTW i am living in kuwait our summer this year is way too hot for hummer to handle i guess

also had 30 % shading film installed

thanks for the support

yes exactly part + labour
other shops quoted close to this price
i have no idea how bad or good is this part
i don't recall the exact time but i would guess less than hour
shops here usually don't charge set price for labour

two guys worked on the car and i was the only customer at that garage at that time so they sfarted immediatly
