Smile Catback Exhaust Options

Hi Everyone,

I am just now getting around to replacing my exhaust and looking for a little deeper sound but no drone. I searched the forum (and the net) but haven't found anything concrete in regards to no drone and better sound. Any input would be great. Thanks!

I think you pretty much covered the V8 Alpha cat backs.

Borla makes a very pricey version, but only for the I5s (I did not see anything for the 5.3L on their web site).

You can always have a local shop make you a custom system as well.

Broken Halo (Local guy here in MI) has a white Alpha with the MagnaFlow, and he seems very pleased with it. If he likes it, and he is a fastidious guy who knows his chit, that says somethin. Maybe you might try a PM to him and ask him what he thinks?

I like my MagnaFlow set, but I have it on my 07 I5, been through tons of road salt, still sounds the way I want and looks good. Can't really comment on the sound as the V8 is a different apple kinda thing.

Why not just put on one of those soup can exhausts on it like all the Toyota owners do?

Take some of your own advice (given on this forum so many times) and sell it.

I bought my cat-back directly from borla (they had a clearance sale and they were selling for 400 USD)
Turns out the borlas are the GM performance exhaust, they have it stamped on it and the H3 stamped on the tail pipes (they are one piece btw and not clamp on tail pipes)

Thanks Doc. I would like the best system in terms of sound but with minimal to no annoying drone or resonance. I have the Alpha or V8 H3. Thanks again!

I know that if you look the pn for the gibson is the same for the Alpha and the I5. This makes me wonder how other companies discern whether it is for the alpha or i5. I run the gibson with a header.
