Default 08 Adventure question

I drove one today. 80k with all brand new Yokahama Geolander A/T-S tires. I also drove an 06 Base H3. Huge difference in how "tight" the steering is.

It there a reason? I know the Adventure has different drive train componants but was wondering if this was a normal variation between the two.

I'm new to Hummers I know nothing about them. I have been a Jeep guy for a while. I test drove an Unlimited 4 door Wrangler and the Hummer won out.

And yes, I did do a quick search. Found nothing.

It is an Adventure. Has the Locker button. I did look up how to make sure it is what it is.

My gf's is an 06 h3 with all the upgrade package level minus the locker and at 100k drives pretty decent albeit slop and shimmy.
My 07 h3 drives tight and has only 62k miles on it. But some times feels heavy or uncertain.

Maybe "Heavy" Would be a better word. The Base was effortless to steer one finger would do it. The Adventure was more hands on. There were 33's on the base but they were a different tread. Less aggressive.

The differences between base and Adventure are:
Lower Xfer case ratio
Shocks are valved stiffer
Lockers in back (front too after 07)
Tires are 33" vs 32"

Thats it, spring rates are the same, the steering and suspension are otherwise the same and do not even have special badging. The differences you felt on a test drive are probably due to mileage and tire brands.

Thanks RSC. I'm still on the fence.. So we'll see they have a 3rd one but it's a Lux. I hate chrome. Unless it's on my Harley.
