Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Did you try standing on the brake while shifting? I believe the transmission is locked into park otherwise. Cheers.

I'm not 100% sure he is still there, but I suspect he is.

Theres a mechanic up on West Avenue I in between Division and Sierra. The guy I dealt with was named Doug, 661-874-4047 is the number I still have for him. I used him to do repair my H2 while I was TDY at NTC.
Was a referral from an E7 in one of the motorpools on post that led me to him.

If the battery dies the key will not come out of the ignition.

My key also stuck in ign. it was the wiring under center console (cup holder area) that triggered a release solonoid in steering wheel area to release key

I just had the same problem. Followed the advice of Trailermedic and found the yellow wire that is on the harness plugged into the shifter is cut straight through. I touched it together and could hear the solenoid in the steering column click. I was able to turn the ignition the rest of the way off and get the key out. Now I just have to repair the severed wire. I love this forum!

great!,,,while you had it open if you pushed the brake you would have heard/seen the shift lock solenoid. an ez mod, kills the sol and u can shift with no batt,no key,no nuttin!
i did mine and i like it,cant get stuck with a dead batt,in park,ON THE RR TRACKS!,or your garage
oh,last yr someone told how to find a hole under the steering wheel, pushed in a pin to release the key. hope someone remembers. id like to try that,,,just in case

check the yellow wire like suggested. it is under the shifter on the harness that connects to the shifter. those wires do break over time.
