There is a really good write up on the cooler and install on the elcova forums.

Towing aside, I have owned lots of cars and trucks. The Hummer is the best. And you will fall in love with it.

I'll search the other forum for the cooler write up.

Now the most important question. We'd like a white one but they are tough to come by in the southwest. Our current option is silver ice. We've never seen one in person, should we hold out for white?

Mine is white, only othe color I'd take is the sedona red. Silver ice is pretty rare too tho I think.

Wanna sell your white one? I think silver ice was only offered in 09.

K, I just read over on the other forum where you talk about the temp improvement w/ the tru-cool cooler.

Also, don't these H2's have a tow/haul button to prevent it from shifting so much when towing?

Next I need to decide if I want to just focus on a 2008 w/ 4.10 gears.

Yea there is a tow haul button. It helps a lot but still a fair amount of shifting and temps will still get pretty high.

Not sure where you are from so maybe heat is not as big an issue for you but I live in Texas. The tranny cooler is a must here.

I will be going to 4.56 gears soon. Already paid for the parts just waiting on them to ship.

I'm in PHX and climbing the steep hills to go camping in the summer when it's 106 is pretty rough on a tranny. Although I never saw above 185 on the Excursion when towing w/ the larger cooler I put in. I'm hoping the tru-cool on the H2 keeps the temps in check as well.
