Replaced the step motors in the dash
I had ordered the Dr. Speedometer step motor and light bulb kit a few months ago. Finally got around to doing it yesterday.
It was really easy. I watched a few you tube videos and there were no surprises.
MY complaints are that the kit i purchased only had 6 motors, I needed 7 and the replacement bulbs are not as bright or white as the factory ones. I think I will order 1 more motor and then switch bulbs out to LED's.
I did manage to scratch the drivers side A/C trim paint. Anyone know what the finish is? It almost feels partially rubberized but might be just paint.

It is a rubberized coating. I had an air freshener that peeled some of it up before I swapped all my interior pieces for the CF ones. You could maybe try plasti dip on just that part, would give it a similar feel but probably won't match color wise exactly.

Yes steppers were easy to replace. The instruction I got were pretty thorough and comprehensive.
For me it was the speedometer that was sticking occasionally, I tried turning the motor shaft with pliers, it really was binding, I'm amazed it even functioned at all.
How cheaply made the motors are!
