This is the only pic I have, it's of the actuator and bracket with the cables going to it. You would likely need to replace the actuator portion. It is very easy if you follow the instructions FYR provided.

Trying to source the correct liftgate actuator for my 2007 H2... All the ones I'm finding are for all years EXCEPT 2007?!?! The dealers aren't much help either... Bottom line- Will these fit my 2007, or do I really need a "2007 Only" actuator? Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated...!!! THNX!!!

I believe the earlier years should work. The major changes were 08/09 but I wouldn't be surprised if those years used the same actuator as well. Just buy one from a seller who accepts returns in case it doesn't work. A hassle but I'm fairly certain it will work.

Luckily mine ended up locking in the open position but if the hatch is closed you need to follow the directions on removing the strap and trying to pop the interior trim loose. You won't get it all the way off but you should be able to pull it forward enough to get a hand down there and pull the two cables to release the locks and pop it open.

Old thread, just reviving long enough to thank LoJac for the pic, used it to get mine open on vacation.

Yes, most parts stores only shows the actuator fits up to 2006, but I have a 2007 and it does work. It's exactly the same. Now, I'm not sure about '08-'09.

For those whose rear hatch won't unlock, you can pull the plastic surround out enough in the middle to get your arm in and pull the unlock cable, unless you got Schwartzenegger's arms. Lojac's pic is upside down so the unlock cable will be on the bottom right side if you're sitting in the rear cargo area. It's the top-left cable in the pic. The windshied wiper bracket is at the bottom of the pic.

Once the surround is off the 3 cables come off easily, then 3 10mm bolts and the assembly is off. One torx screw holds the electric lock to the plate. Bought a replacement on ebay for 20 and change and now back up and running.

Thanks again to Lojac for the pic. It helped me figure out how to get the hatch open.

I know this is based in Russia, but thought i'd share, in case any of you butcher the rear opening, there are third party alternatives...

https://blackrhinotuning.ru/index.ph...&product_id=54

They also make some nice looking steps etc also.
