Default Rear air bags

I've noticed that periodically after I park the H2 at night and in the morning the *** end is sagging. Once I start and drive it for 2 mintues it moves back up to where it should be.

This only happens periodically and not all the time.

What do you think the problem is. Leak in the air ride suspension?? But if so, how do you explain that this only happens periodically. There are days when it is fine.

I got a feeling this is an expensive problem.

Its definitely the air suspension leaking off, being as its periodic it may be triggered by extreme heat or cold.
The first time I saw mine sagging I ripped those bad boys out and changed over to coils. I bet they dont leak again

So how does it ride with coils and what did that cost you.

I dont notice any difference in the ride quality, I noticed a big difference (to the positive) off road. The coils gave me more positive contact in the rear wheels when crawling over various obstacles.

I think I paid somewhere around $300 for the springs from Tekatoys and I had my mechanic install them. I dont remember what he charged me but it wasnt much.

On the up side, I sold the used parts for $100!

Oh I should mention that I did not remove the compressor, I kept it installed and tied it to my train horn.

Also you will need the dealer or your mechanic to reflash the computer if you switch to coils. The BCM will cause the compressor to run non stop if you dont.

Had the same problem on my '03 H-2.........I put off repairing it for a little too long and it wound up costing me $3700. for air bags AND compressor. I wanted to keep it "original".
