Default Question

Im having an issue with my truck. I lately been leaving the truck parked at home so i barely use my truck so now every morning i have to turn it on and drive it for at least 30 min or else my battery will be dead could that be a battery problem or the alternator i got the current battery about 2 years ago


Help anyone

Do you have a multimeter? If so read the voltage with your vehicle not running. Should be 12 or above. Start the vehicle and read again, should be 13-14vdc. If so both your battery and alter. should be fine. Do you have any accessories that could draw current from the electrical system while the key is off?

you can buy a clamp on dc volt amp meter that will let you know if something is pulling amps out of your barrey with the eng off ..mike

or you could take it to a parts store and have them test it for free, buy a float charger or a trickle charger and hook it up

harbor freight sells multimeters for $4. Cheap and nice to have in the toolbox.

just figure out the problem my battery is leaking i did use the meter it just smell really bad thanx guys

Now the new Question do you guys have any idea why my bat is leaking for the second time in less than 2 years ?
